One fine summer day in 2022, Finn was out walking his big, burly dog, Shayla, in the neighborhood where Diana had moved a couple of years earlier. The same neighborhood where the Wickford Shipyard is located and where Finn docks his boat, LuLu.

As they strolled by Diana’s house, her small, scrappy dog, Pepper, decided it was time to defend her turf. She dashed out into the street and began barking “ferociously” at Shayla.

Finn let out a startled “WHOAH!” clearly caught off guard by the pint-sized fury. His main concern, however, was that Shayla might mistake Pepper for a chew toy.

Diana, horrified that her little dog had caused such a ruckus, quickly came outside, ready to apologize and offer an olive branch. She invited Finn over for a backyard beverage. The rest, as they say, is history. Turns out, every dog does have its day.
